I made this track to get in the christmas spirit nice and early. I was fortunate to have the skills and talent of my bros from New Zealand on this one. So a big shout out to Ernie Semu, Ben Gilgen & Dixon Nacey for taking the time out to grace this track with their presence. I used some photos from the wonderful Anne Geddes (who will probably sue me if she ever sees this). This goes out to Whan...
where i can find this in hd ?
No mention of Michael Omartian nor Steve Gadd ... shocking and disappointing. Thanks Rick Beato for including them and all musicians in his love and education of this Aja thing I never liked ... now years later I respect it (but will never own it).
RIP Charles, Tama, Thom ❤
I’m so glad u hated your job. Your videos are the best. Love the receipts
what year was this filmed?
I bought this Documentary back in 2000 I think it was on DVD, I didn't really know much about the album , I knew Fleetwood Mac from the album Tango in the night from the late 80's, but after watching this I did buy the album on CD and was blown away. Amazing album. It makes you think, we as the consumer go and buy the finished product from the record shop, but we have no idea what blood sweat and tears goes into making an album!

you make loving fun
Steely Dan proves that nobody is bigger than the music. The music gods always wanted it that way.
"speaks for itself really" lol... those solos sucked, and to be honest the one they used wasn't the greatest either...fits the song I guess.
I’m 61 and this is on my top five albums. Aja sets me free. I get into trouble though because I tend to drink too many adult beverages when listening to.
the music collaboration (the last part of that word kinda like abort) is great too bad the two were are so communistic 🥱zz😳😎💰🤓🇨🇳
The only part of this that annoyed me was them talking about the sax on Asia, right through one of the greatest drum solos in history, performed by Steve Gadd. There had never been drum solo of that magnitude on pop song. And it remains a classic to this day.
One of the best groups of all time... I say that reserved because tastes vary but musical talent and writing is extraordinary, nearly any real artist would agree
"to take the song beyond perfection and loosen it up a little" I've never heard a more accurate description of this albums sound. a very insightful doc.
Should be in the top ten greatest albums of all time……
not 1 word on Steve Gadds amazing solo on "Aja"
There must be a story behind that actually
Good call, he played Peg... but we got Purdy and Marrota... maybe not available to be highlighted for the video... Everyone thats a fan knows he was there
He was more the old school Pretzel Logic/Cant Buy a Thrill era perhaps
I know this documentary.. off by heart ❤️ it’s awesome
Of course there are so many more, but as of this moment there are 3 standout famous musicians who decided early on that "Because I like enjoying music that sounds unlike anything else out there, if I don't hear it, I'm gonna create it" 1- Prince 2- Donald Fagen & 3- Walter Becker who said: "Hear! Hear!"
GREAT doc, A+! Really gets into the heart of Rumours!
I bought this album in 1977 and I played with earphones and feeding my son at the same time especially Deacon Blues 😊
If a black dude wants to slap the guitar, just let him. He may help create a hit
My old man didn’t like them, so I was probably 20 before I really heard them and they took hold. Somehow That was 30 years ago.
Ian Drury: " there are people who has read books and people that ain't read books"... Yes, it's true. Mostly people that ain't read books.
It's All Over Now Drink Your Big Black Cow And Get Out Of Here.
I didn't know Johnny Galecki helped to produce rumors😂
What a backhanded comment by Lindsey " Fleetwood Mac with hits my God" LOL Fleetwood had hits before Lindsay and Stevie joined the group they were just a different kind of band... truth be told it was actually Christine McVie that kept Fleetwood together after Peter Green left. Her ability to write songs and the way her piano Blended the group together kept it going
Albatross
Would love to hear all their albums released with only instrumental tracks.
What year was this made?
Millions of music fans don't even know this album exists. In my view it should be top 20 on Rolling Stone magazine's top 100
Whenever I have some kind of new way of listening to music, the test for me is listening the Aja album. It’s like a benchmark. It’s the richest most nuanced thing I can play.
Yeah, WTF? Steve Gadd, hello??
great song
ON POINT AND IN THE GROOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m not sure who this doco belongs too, but I Fkn love it , I cried and have been inspired all at the same time , I love the mixing stories , the old console triumphs and challenges and the creativity of the band , the whole thing is just fkn amazing, I’m born 77 and listened to led zeppelin all my childhood but I can’t help but fall in love again , this is absolute GOLD
RIP Christine! 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
I have never seen an interview with Lindsey Buckingham that's not positively drenched in ego. Honestly I don't know how anyone could stand being in the same room with him.
As great an album as Aja is, I think the follow-up - Gaucho - is just as good, and probably better. I've no idea why that record doesn't get more acclaim....
Love this jam. I can actually pray alongside !!!’
I love how Donalds body goes into Ray Charles mode when playing keyboard
Steely Dan is in my top 5 favorite bands ever and Donald’s “Night Fly” is a top 10 album. Their music is unlike anything else in the best way.
I enjoy The Classic Album series.Aja is my favourite.
Be at peace Donald---you done good.
Really bad sound and video quality here. Better checking out the original UK documentary this is taken from! Disappointing.
It was uploaded 14 years ago from a old VHS tape, what did you expect?
magic
You guy's look like your having fun, that's what it is about.
Look at those buttons lol love to see a studio or sing for fun .
